Hi, new here, hope it’s alright that I start with a post seeking help.
I’ve got a 2003 Kawasaki ZX-6R that’s in need of some work. The tank is dented, the whole bike is orange, and I’m sick of both. I use this bike solely as a track bike so not looking for a show finish. I’d like to keep the total cost under $400 and am willing to prep the fiberglass pieces for primer. I’m no painter or prepguy but I’m not willing to give it a good solid effort.
Anyhow, the bike is in storage, in Scarborough, I can deliver the pieces but am looking for someone local to that part of town, hopefully.
If you’re up to discussing the work, please email me at hondaonfire at yahoo.comHere’s a pic of the colour I’d like, it’s from a 2003 BMW Z4 but it needn’t be the same exact match, just a resemblance:

I might have been under the impression this forum had a large number of GTA participants. :blush:AnonymousFebruary 10, 2009 at 4:28 pm #12667There’s quite a few people that have registered from the province, many just do not participate on the forum. Maybe this will interest some of them. Unfortunately the majority of the people in this trade could care less about taking paint past 5 pm. The forum’s intent was to be global, I don’t think you would be able to get enough painters interested in one region.
Be careful out that way, easy to get ripped off on bad paint work! Send it to kennelly for some flames!

Hey Jimmo,
I actually tried e-mailing you, did you get it?
Thanks.
No, sorry don’t see anything… Which address did you try?
I didn’t actually see an e-mail address but the site has an ‘e-mail’ option where I just type out the message and hit submit.
Anyhow, the content of that e-mail was to ask if you’d be interested in taking this on?AnonymousFebruary 10, 2009 at 6:38 pm #12672I had to run it by the shop owner as I’m clueless on what to charge for this kind of thing. He tells me the best we could do it for $700. When it comes to bike parts based on previous experience, pretty well every customer made certain each piece was completely sanded down and polished, which adds quite a bit of time to the job. I know you said you aren’t too fussy, but it seems to be the only way he’s interested in doing this kind of job.
When it comes to prep work, we do prefer to do it ourselves from start to finish as we offer a lifetime warranty on the paint.
If your interested I’m more then happy to do it for you, If kennelly or someone you trust with your paintwork can do it for less then by all means.
(BTW I honestly won’t feel bad if anyone undercuts me, if you can give him a better price feel free) - AuthorPosts
