Does anybody have access for motorcycle colors. All I can bring up in my Dupont is autos. I’ve got a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250 code 17K Metallic Diablo Black. Chromabase code preferred.

I used to do a lot of bikes, I found that I could only get formulas now and then (say one in every 5 jobs).

I used the camera to scan them and always had great success getting a bendable match. If you don’t have the camera I am sure your jobber will be glad to help you out.

    Good luck!

I dont have dupont codes but for bikes, as ben said its a shot in the dark. With all the bikes i do i have found the best way is to find the closest color chip and tint from there. Same applies to a camera. One thing to note is that bike colors tend to be more clean than cars so most color formulas will be simple with not alot of toners mixed in. It makes them easy to mix or tint by eye.

Thanks for the input guys. I had the camera, but sold it because most of the time the “blendable matches” were worse than I could do making up a formula myself. Add in the cost of monthly colornet updates, and it just wasn’t worth it to me anymore. I was just hoping somebody had a DuPont # as a starting point.

This one’s pretty straight forward black pearl, but the pearl doesn’t have that Prismatic effect that some of the xryillics, and doesn’t turn the base grey/silver like some of the standard pearls do.

It’s listed on Colorite’s site, but I was hoping to do it in house. I’ll do a few test mixes, and if that fails order up some from them.

Youll get a better match yourself than what youll get from colorrite. Their matches usually arent great and the paint itself sucks. Its verry soft and gummy.

i’ve tried looking it up on my ppg color web. it shows up as a tricoat, and only in waterborne. which may explain why it looks the way it does. water is more vibriant.
here’s ppg’s brandcode maybe you can cross reference it on your system.
    code 923214
on my computer, i entered everything else, but i had to leave out the code it self.
here’s a link on the colorrite, it’s not long but it may help you decide.
