Alright, I always have customers insist that the dealership applied sealant gets re-applied and I send it over for them. I am just wondering what this does exactly? is it just a $100 wax application or what?

It’s basically an over priced wax job. They bought into the hype and payed for nothing, really.

    Paint sealant Vs. wax:

Paint sealant lasts a lot longer than wax. Most pro detailer apply sealant after buffing/polishing and it lasts
    for months.

I ordered a Klasse sealant glaze about a few days ago, I plan to use it around winter.

From what Ive read it lasts at least 6 months. About $25 for almost a quart.

Meguiars NXT 2.0 tech wax is more of a sealant than a wax and is quite good for the money.
But, of course, it’s always in the prep.

Dealerships, tend to exaggerate the longevity of the sealant. A customer of mine bought a new PT Cruiser
and was sold on the state-of-the-art 5 year paint sealant… She was happy with the purchase so i said nothing.
Hell, even if it lasts a few months, that’s still longer lasting than the dealership itself. 😉

I’ve tried the NXT wax. Its a good wax but it barely lasts a month.

Try the Collinite 845 wax, its GREAT. Up here in snow/salt/rain/ice it
was still beading water after 3 months.

From what I’ve read in autopia.org many pros recommend sealants ,
especially the zaino, Wolfgang and klasse brand for winter protection or for those who
don’t feel like waxing their car every often.

And lol @ the “5 year paint selant”.:rofl
A mechanic I know purchased a new GMC SUV a while ago and he told me about about this
magical sealant that’s only sold in dealership:
Apparently they warm up the surface to “open up the paint” and apply the said sealant
and it sticks to the paint. :lol1
And it also lasts for years!
