I’ve got a roll of mechanics wire and a couple basic stands. With a little thought, just about anything can be made to work. I used a tire iron last week to prop up a trunk on our stand so I could spray it in and out…

I am glad we don’t have more stands, we just wouldn’t have the space to store them

I totally agree Ben. Between the air blowers on stands, the heat lamp and the one paint stand i have, Its a pain in the azz.

I’m looking at a couple of basic X stands and a door hanger for my floor jack. Am I right that these oughta do the trick?

o well i must be the exception lol, i would not be without my panel stands, though some of the ones in the video look cumbersome and would take up a bit of room.

Tilting stands are great for new hoods, just fasten them on i start off vertical seal both sides, then colour underside, tilt flat and give it the heavy message on the outer side, i like to give hoods a good flooding of clear, i could never paint a hood vertical and be happy with it.

i find wires and hooks to the ceiling a bit of a hassle.

I have three of these stands

I have one very similar to that. Mine has all sorts of attachments for bolting stuff to, and most usefully four large bulldog type clips on extended rods. Ideal for clipping small parts to.

I once did some “body panels” for a class 10 autograss car like this

Basically a booth full of small flat aluminium panels swinging from the roof from wires. I hate painting a moving target :lol1 :hunt
