Well I’ve got some Chrome and Polished aluminum on this car that was previously painted.
But it was peeling in quite a few places so I stripped them back down.
Just wondering what processes you guys take for painting Chrome and polished aluminum.

Treat it the same way as steel and just abrade the SH#$ outta it?

if your looking to actually paint it and not save the chromed surface then scuff it as best as you can, epoxy prime and paint it. the aluminum is no big deal but the chrome is usually a pia to dull out. instead of sanding you can lightly blast it to etch the chrome as well.

I know it’s a bit outdated now, but I’ve used etch over sanded chrome to really good effect. I’ve colour coded quite a few front grilles that way, and even though they’re right out front just waiting to get chipped, I’ve not had one come back due to flaking.

Fortunately this is only the Rear Bumper.
But it’s all the Window Trim, Glass Chrome, Door handles. and Drip rail trim…

The guy is a little too Anti Chrome IMO… I’m just not sure he understands how much work is involved in shooting so many pieces.
