has anyone ever done it? I’m curious as heck to see how it would look… and if it’s possible to re-flat with steel wool or something… anyone?
August 13, 2011 at 4:11 pm #32387you can polish it out to a shine but your not going to flatten it back out and have it look right. it just looks like sanded or scuffed paint no matter what you try to dull it back out with. it will never look like it did.
August 13, 2011 at 7:23 pm #32390if it’s fresh, and i do mean like fresh to 2 days old, i have buffed a few places on a flat black, and then took some laqure and wiped back down to a flat finish.
BUT, i suggest to do a test spot in a small unnoticable area.honestly i say i was lucky at best. it may work it may not.

lucky fact what i did was just luck (did it twice, once on ss and once on b/c), but that was on fresh paint. don’t know if i would try it on large panels though. - AuthorPosts
