Hi guys. I have run into a little problem today whilst spraypainting a new spoiler I purchased for my MR2 Spyder. The paint job came out pretty well, all in all, but then I had a slight accident and the spoiler ended up falling over and incurring some minor damage to the blade. They look like “bite marks”, the worst being about 10mm long and about 4mm in depth. Since it is relatively minor, I am going to attempt a repair job myself, since I can tolerate a minor imperfection.
A few questions:
1. First of all, does anyone know of any decent over-the-counter filler that might be suitable for a PUR part?
2. Seeing as the spoiler is newly painted, would it be advisable to sand it back down and respraying, or would I get away with taping off the afflicted section and doing it that way (I’m well aware that might leave some blemishes, I might be able to tolerate that).
3. I have considered using U-Pol P38 easy-sand filler. I know this would work with fibreglass, but not sure about PUR?Guys and gals, feedback and advice is more than welcome! Thanks in anticipation!
Matt
