My dad is looking to fix up the van he drives for the Community Education Coalition.
It’s got science themed stuff painted on it and over the years the paint
job on it has come off on the hood and other parts of the van from tree sap and weather elements…Does anyone know what the clear coat of paint is that is put on top of a vehicle’s paint job, and how to remove it?
Is it just a normal clear spray paint or would it be something special just for cars??…..
If you can’t answer the questions but could point me in the right direction or know someone who might know the answers let me know. 🙂the van:
Is that a vinyl wrap? If it’s not a wrap someone spent a good deal of time with a airbrush. As far as your question about clear coat, if it’s not a wrap it most likely has a urethane clear coat on it. I would not recommend using anything out of a spray can. If the clear coat or paint is chipping, flaking off then those panels will need to be re painted. You could touch up small rock chips and such with some touch up paint and dab some clear coat on it, but certainly nothing bigger than a chip.

Thanks for the reply. 🙂“Life is like a spray painting,
