I used to use Mirka Abralon 2000/3000 and seemed to get the odd pigtail that you didn’t see until compounding. With this disc I saw none…and it’s supposed to last quite a bit longer than the ‘competition’. I’ll give it a two thumbs up :dnc

Where did you find these and whats the price compared to the Mirka? I have been using the Mirka 3000 for awhile now, I stopped using the 2000 due to the pigtail issues that you described earlier.

It was a sample from the SIA rep at my jobbers open house, he did say it was pricey $25 per, not sure if that was a box of 2 or just a single. However, if it does last 40 times longer than ‘conventional’ abrasives, it might be worth it. When I mentioned the pigtails I was getting, he said it was from the minute balls of glue in the Mirka discs…maybe.

I found that if I soak my mirka in a mixing cup with a few drops of soap between uses it cuts down on the pigtails. Just rinse it out before use.
