does anyone know why they put on soluble primer in the first place if were just supposed to wash it off??? I’m trying to find a more efficent way of doing this, I find some bumpers primer washes off easy in some spots and impossible in others. What do you guys think about using bumper stripper on new covers to remove soluble primer?

Painted bumper covers is the stupidest thing I think I’ve ever seen. It’s a bumper “B U M P E R” for bumping in to things so why not make it out of something that can handle bumping into things. Airhead car designers:woohoo: what’s next? glass/crystal bumpers. B)
May 13, 2008 at 12:44 am #10342I go by the solvent test if my base reducer takes it off then I,ll go with usually prepsol to remove it.if that doesnt work i’ll use base reducer and prep it as any other raw bumper. but i agree the whole plastic bumper thing is for looks only and aerodynamics.
May 13, 2008 at 12:46 am #10343my anti stat sure doesnt like the primer on gms plastic parts!!!!!takes it right off :evil:so i dont use on pre primed gm stuff anymore im with stone on this one though ive never had a problem shooting over gms primers
