This was the first project I got talked into, it has been ongoing for a while now. One thing leads to another as we all know.
Well this is were she stands, or whats left of it.
In the beginning I knew the floor’s needed major work I didnt know that I was going to have to remove the frame to do it though    🙁
I had my Padawan’s over here this weekend and had them studying hard this weekend on Sandblasting and stripping an 87 Chevy pickup so while they were practising destroying pieces parts I attacked the Old Studebaker In Between yelling at them! 👿 I mean coaching them.

By the way any one ever replaced the rocker panels on one of these?
I have never done one yet any way I know the pinch welds at the bottom need to come out but how is it held in there at the top? I know they are spot welded but I cant find them.

I love seeing the end result from this type of work and it really does separate the men from the boys.

But how do you make it pay, the hours involved must be just about endless when you see it in its raw state as it is at the moment.

I mean there will be hundreds of hours on a project like this.

Will be satasfiying to see it roll out the door though. and it get’s another oldie back on the road

    Mechanics lien that’s how
If he doesn’t pay I will auction it off!

Well I got the rest of the remaining old rotted floor out of the trunk yesturday, Now it looks like I have some patching to do before I can put the new floor in it.
The new floor isn’t done being Sand blasted yet any way.
My Partner Skip should have that finished up about the time I start welding in the Patches.

Still dont know what I am going to do about the rocker panels or the floor’s up front it will be interesting though.

I always planned on doing Restoration work and Rust is part of it. :S But if this was my car I would have scraped it :exci The owner came over the other day all he could say is I had no idea  gee what did you think? :wak
I told him repeatedly it wasn’t even a good parts car as there weren’t any panels on it that were good for parts!

Oh well It’s out of the shop for a while waiting for some blasting, If he had the cash I would say send it to Vegas and get it done, be done in less than a day.

By the way next time I start a project of this size for some one I am pulling a credit reference, And having them leave a Visa card on file.

This guy told me the other day he was going to put my name on the title and sell the car when it was done to pay me, I told him no way as I will own the car 30-60 days after its done if you fail to pay the bill.
    He didn’t like that
Dam car wont be worth the paint I put on it let alone all the labor.
