Hull City’s Wembley FA Cup final tickets have gone on sale today with many fans fearing they will be left empty-handed. The club has received 25,000 tickets for the historic May 17 final against high-flying Arsenal – some 7,000 short of the semi-final allocation.

The Tigers took 26,500 fans to this month’s semi-final, with many stay-away supporters hoping to go to the final instead to save on the expense. Ticket sales got under way this morning with large queues outside the KC Stadium.

City say every season card holder is guaranteed a cup final ticket if they want one in the phased sale. But many fans have criticised the reduced ticket allocation from the FA, which will leave many heartbroken.

David Bartle wants to take children Charlie, 16, and Joshua, nine, to the final, but faces heartbreak if he is unable to secure a tickets for all three.

Church minister Mr Bartle and his son Joshua are both pass holders, so they are guaranteed Wembley tickets. But Mr Bartle has bought Charlie’s tickets on a match-by- match basis, which does not qualify for a Wembley cup final ticket.

Mr Bartle, 56, of Burton Pidsea, said: “Every day we are talking about it.

“We are allowed two tickets because nike mercurial vapor Joshua and I are passholders, but we will have to try to get one for Charlie in the general sale.

“She’s heartbroken. She’s been to every home match since Hull City have been in the Premier League, we have bought her a ticket for every match.

“But even if we manage to get her a ticket in the general sale, she wouldn’t be able to sit with us. It’s very upsetting.”

Mr Bartle criticised the FA for the reduced ticket allocation.

He said: “I think it’s disgra- ceful because it’s probably a once-in-a-lifetime event for the fans.

“I don’t think the FA has been fair with the ticket allocation.”

Supporters have also criticised the hike in ticket prices for the final.

Tickets cost £45, £65 and £85, with reduced rates for concessions at £35, £55 and £75.

Season ticket holder Peter Heasman, 71, of Gipsyville, is among fans who have been priced out of the final.

Mr Heasman said: “I am finding it difficult to afford it, what with having the semi and the final at Wembley in the space of a month. I just don’t have that sort of money.

“I think the FA has got it wrong. Having the semi-final at Wembley as well as the final is all a money con.

“Everyone thinks the semi-finals should be played at a neutral gro- und, saving the final for Wembley.

“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it due to the prices, I will be watching it on TV.”

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has also criticised the FA after it was confirmed 37,000 cup-final tickets would not be going directly to fans of the finalists but to neutrals in the nation’s “football family”.

Arsenal has 45,000 season ticket holders and 150,000 members.

Mr Gazidis said the loyal supporters of the finalists deserved a greater chance to see their team play in what is one of the biggest matches of the season.

An FA spokesman said: nike hypervenom phantom “Both finalists get 25,000, while 20,000 goes to the football family, the majority of which are grassroots football volunteers from across the country.

“The remaining 17,000 goes to Club Wembley members, who are the stadium’s season ticket holders.

“The FA Cup Final, while a special day for the club supporters, is where the FA rewards football volunteers from all over the country, some of whom are dedicating 300-plus hours a year to helping the grassroots game.”
