cant you buy new replacement nuts or even get the nice billet ones you have in the pic? i would think they would be available and would have to be cheaper than buying all the chrome stuff and the work involved in refinishing them.
Yeah..you can buy the replacements. However, they are $250. I thought spending $40 on paint would be worth it.
Why not just polish out your aluminum ones instead of trying to mimic chrome?
Because they are plastic. Otherwise, I wouldn’t mess with the spray chrome…That was the whole point of this thread.

You are probably right. The lines would transpire through due to the heat and cool cycles. I’ll just wait until I have to pull the engine for some reason.
they look great. what did you end up doing with that nut in the middle?
Nothing yet, those you see in the pic are billet aluminum. I have the original nuts on my wheels which are plastic. I plan to buy a pint of that chrome paint from motostorm and give it a try.

Thanks for the info JimC. The Motochrome stuff is half the cost of the Alsa paint. I may try the Motorchrome. I’m going for mor of a polished aluminum look but thought any type of spray chrome would be slightly duller than a true chrome plate yielding a polished aluminum type look. Sounds good in theory right. LOL! 1/2 pint of that stuff is $60. Much cheaper than the alsa kit though.

Just about got them there. I may go back and re-work the side tray lines but I’m happy with the other two.
