i know this is an oldish thread however i have the same issues with feracla G3 ,looks good on the day then after its washed the scratch marks show again ,only one conclusion G3 must be full of fillers which give a false finish ,once you wash it with detergents the fillers are removed just like glaze or waxes

i have changed over to Menzerna Powergloss and what you see is what you get ,i can now leave a job in the confidence that the scratch marks wont reapear after a wash down ,as a bonus Menzerna cuts better and cleans up far easier than G3 plus it is actualy cheaper

i wont go back to ferecla

I’ve just realised that you’re from the UK too mate (well, almost 😉 😆 ). Do you tend to buy from coast airbrush, or somewhere over here?
i didnt know you where from the UK as well ,oops

no i dont buy from coast but its a very popular supplier in the States ,personaly i wont buy Iwata airbrushes @retail UK prices as the prices are fixed and too high in the UK ,Rich are substantaily cheaper and imo spray nicer i also use H&S and a few others ,my last Iwata highline HPC was given to me after i got the guy a Rich AB300 ,the finest you can get are Japanese Olympos but sadly they closed thier factory last year so are getting harder to obtain

im not too sure if the Neo is available in the UK yet but as i say prices in the UK are much higher than in the States

i didnt think HOK had any UK staff any more since they pulled all their distribution network apart a couple of years ago ,hence why thier distribution has gone to shit all across the UK and Europe ,its alomost impossable to get regular HOK supplies in the UK nowadays and half the lineup is on the missing list

they realy need to sort thier shit out over here as many folk have had to find alternatives to HOK

word has it that Valspar want rid of HOK due to all the supply problems ,more often than not only 80% of orders will turn up from the States leaving you with a recipe for a cake you cant bake becouse the eggs didnt arive
ahhh no. while the trigger brush is great for what its for your not going to actually airbrush with it. its for laying down color in large areas and thats it.
exactly so ,they are not easily controled and for artwork they are awkward ,you wont learn airbrush techniques from that style of gun ,there are however combined double action units which give air then paint on the pull rather than true double actions which are push then pull ,these are a compromise between the traditional gun trigger and the overhead push button airbrush configuration ,these will give greater control and ease of use but require a knack to get the best results , i liken them to an automatic car compared to a manual gear shift ,i like both myself and the combined is far more fatigue free than a true double action

im hearing reports that the 4000 RP isnt as good as the older 3000 for clears and this is from a diehard Sata user with vast experiance

i think i will stick to my Optima ,its certainly the best finishing gun i have ever used and my Walcom guns easily match Sata at half the price

your guage is a guide only and even if it is out [but consistantly out] it is still only a guide ,think of it this way,you can have a reading in PSI PSIG BAR or MCG ie My Chinese Guage ,the guage doesnt change the physical pressure coming through only the format it reads it in so if your guage reads 30 whilst mine reads 28 whether yours is the acurate one or mine is then it matters not a jot as long as we both know where our paint/gun works best ,it has more to do with the ability to set up a gun correctly than working off predetermined pressures especialy as spraying conditions can vary from hour to hour therefore corrections have to be made from hour to hour day to day week to week and season to season along with corrections for materials etc etc etc ,this is where experiance trumps recomendations ,Sata recomend 2.5 BAR/36PSI triggered ,i have never used one that high and so it follows [acording to Sata] everyone here so far is wrong with recomedations around the 2.1 BAR figure

the only way you can be certain of your guage readings is to have it calibrated against a known acurate guage ,but all said and done that doesnt mean your gun will atomise any better or worse based soley on how acurate or not your guage may be

if the speedo on my car is out by + 20% it doesnt mean i am going any faster !

well sata would recomend a new set the price they sell them at LOL ,i know what your saying but they are still adjustable and chocking back does work if you arent willing to splash out on a new set up for every brand of paint you use

i am using lesanol HS extra at the moment and a Sata 2000RP 1.2 copes with it easily ,no extra reduction as does my Walcom 1.2 and funnily enough my ANI F1 mini gun 1.2 HPS,for panels i have even used a 1.0 in my Walcom HA
