All I use are 2 Astro filter/regulator units that are knockoffs of the sharpe 606 units.
They were like $40/ea. back when I got ’em, think they’re a little more now.
Never had any problems, but my compressor doesn’t run much and has an automatic tank drain on it.
December 20, 2009 at 6:07 am #18089Turned out nice. :cheer:
We used to use fleece, grill cloth and sometimes expanding foam to get the shape back when I was doing car audio.
If texture coating, wrapping with vinyl or fabric, or flocking we wouldn’t spend a whole lot of time on ’em, just enough glass and resin to get ’em stiff, a little filler, a light sanding, then wrap or texture coat. Really didn’t bother priming and painting too many sets.

December 12, 2009 at 11:25 am #17763Thanks for the kind words fellas, I’m happy with it.
Richard, I’ve got somewhere between 4-5K in it.
I went the route I did for a few different reasons. I didn’t want to loose any more floor space than I absolutely had to in my shop, I wanted a roll up entrance door that wouldn’t be in the way like swing out doors would, I wanted a booth tall enough to fit lifted trucks, I wanted to be able to use the roof of it for loft storage, and I wanted it to have a residential/multi purpose appearance.

As for being fire resistant, it’s constructed with 5/8″ firecode rated type X sheetrock. However, none of the what if’s in regards to a commercial application really matter as this is a “home setup”.
December 10, 2009 at 8:03 am #17703That’s what I used to build the booth in my home shop.
Mines a 7’x7′ industrial exhaust wall with a 24″ tubeaxial fan w/ a 220v single phase 1 1/2hp motor.
I had http://www.jcmetalfab.com/ build mine.

Sure seems like they’re expecting everyone to just enforce themselves. The employee training portion is quite vague. Sounds like you could develop your own in house training program and issue yourself a certificate.
December 6, 2009 at 12:58 am #17550What state are you in?
How much are you spraying?
I thought that most states were giving “exempt status” to shops that were using smaller quantities?
Something like if you use less than 200 gallons of vocs/year and paint/solvents are your only source of pollution, a permit isn’t required.
