February 5, 2009 at 3:27 am #12593keep tryiTo Tell you all its a bunch of poo over there… thats what happens when things are left up to the people and there is no one to “govern” what goes on
January 29, 2009 at 11:32 pm #12555They look really nice brother.. My wife and I redid our kitchen a couple years ago.. We bought a bunch of new unfinished cabinets and then I stained them and cleared them.. The gloss will die down a bit in my opinion.. maybe not, but ours seemed to do that.. Of course my wife thinks she should rub em down with Murphs Oil soap, so maybe thats why they dont shine like they did..
Still yet I think urethane cleared cabinets look awesome!!!!!
January 28, 2009 at 7:43 am #12531That looks sweet Dinger.. I would try that 15410 if I had a store around here that still sold paints.. None of em do anymore.. Got a SW store probably 30 minutes away, but dont want to drive that far for paint:P
January 24, 2009 at 8:58 pm #12452Im not buying into that one EVER.. A true accelerator is “Tin dibutyl ate”.. It reacts with the moisture and iso’s to kick a product super fast.. it will not stay open longer.. but then again, maybe what Sikkens is producing isnt Tin??
January 23, 2009 at 12:30 am #12392Great work man.. You have talent.. and just starting out, its only going to get better with time.. Glad you are here and welcome to the forum.. I think we all look forward to seeing your projects bruhB)
January 23, 2009 at 12:25 am #12391I use an LPH400 for everything here except true high build primers and poly primers.. Everything else gets shot thru my lph.. I run a 1.4, fan wide open, with about 25 psi for clear, and around 20 for base.. You will need to shoot close to the panel and if thats not your style, then its not your gun in my opinion.. A GFG as mentioned above I have heard nothing but great things about for clear.. Same good news about an RP and a W400.. the RP and W400 are compliant, but will hose out materail much more than an LPH.. If you are used to cranking out the fluid and hammering down the paint, then you probably will never like the LPH.. It took me a long time to get used to the gun as I had always been a hoser with a conventional gravity fed gun.. Great gun, but not for everyone thats for sure..
I think you could teach most anyone to paint with a Sata RP with time and practice and love the gun, but you would be hard pressed to teach everyone to love an Iwata..
Just my 2 quarts worth:P
January 21, 2009 at 5:23 am #12357Sooo, that leaves me with 5 wks 4 days to quit crying.. I think I can manage:P
January 20, 2009 at 8:17 pm #12351Yes I have been using craigslist for the last couple of months.. Here is the pitfalls to craigslist.. One as already mentioned people are wanting paint work for next to nothing.. I simply turn them away very respectfully..
The big problem I have is this.. If you run an ad that is well written with links to pictures of your work as I did.. Anyone and I mean anyone who does not like your ad, from the guy you tell NO, to the shop in your area that may be losing business to you can SCREW YOUR EYEBALLS OUT!!!! All they have to do is flag your ad, and once it has so many flags for whatever reason, craigslist will pull it and delete it..
I have had this problem.. I am not breaking any of the terms of use “RULES”, but myself as well as another shop here close to me have had our ads pulled.. I even tried to put a new ad back up on Sunday, but they just squashed it within an hour..
So the question of can it be good.. Oh yes, I was making nice extra cash doing spot repair work, but now I can even put my name out there because of jealousy in my opinion.. They also have a help forum for these problems.. but after they went over my situation with me, they said well just give it a few weeks.. maybe someone is tired of seeing your ad.. Whatever the reason, its bull $hit since I did not break any of their rules, but still keep getting my ad whacked..
I have been crying about this to BondoMerchant the last couple of days:P
