I would check the temp of the panel while its in the sun. Its gonna be one hot piece. I think you will have problems trapping solvents. at 85 degrees outside that panel can get well over 140. fine for baking the clear but not too good for spraying it

Ya epoxies are made for bare metal. even PPG’s dplf is fine for bare metal. before they made it lead free dp was about one of the best epoxies around. i prefer an etch before epoxy but that is just my personal choice

normally you might be able to buff but I doubt there is enough material on there to do so. you will be lucky if those 3 coats with the airbrush equal what 1 coat would be with a normal gun

Heat. Use a heat gun or Inductor. Or next time make them buy you a new Quarter if not make them pay you for the extra time
looks really good, your not doing this full time?
No, well, not yet anyway.

Just been playing around in my shop at home for the past several years.

I recently accepted a job offer to work at a resto shop. Should start there in a few weeks assuming my request for an early release from my paper mill job comes through. They’re shutting down the mill I’ve worked at for the past 15 years in May. I figured I’d give the bodyshop business a try and see what happens.
Well congratulations. I think that will be the right fit for you.
