I dont have much trouble with matches when spraying that way. I wouldnt do it on a tough color but this was a dark blue and not much issue there. i dont really drop coat the last coat but I dont like putting my base on really wet either.
Windshield urethane adhesive???? Wow I would have never guessed that one.. I would have assumed you used panel adhesive…. Things that make yo go hmmmmmmmmm
ya its strange. the metal quarter doesnt touch the inner structure. they have “spacers” that hold it about 3/8″ away. Guess thats why they use windshield urethane so it fills in that space. theres about 10 spot welds between the trunk drip and taillight pocket.December 15, 2009 at 8:00 am #17912MoCoke wrote:
the thing i hate about waterborne even though i never used it yet is the shop temp has to be so high as to prevent freezing, which i guess means either keeping your heat on all night or heating the mixing room all night, and then the flash time of water is just ridiculous.
Freezing is 32 degrees F. honestly if you cant keep the shop above freezing at night something is wrong. cold temps can have an adverse effect on solvent based tints as well. and with the proper equipment flash time can be as fast or faster than solventsDecember 13, 2009 at 10:26 pm #17807I’ve done small stuff with IR lights. it does the trick in an instant. not as consistent as an oven though
December 9, 2009 at 2:35 am #17651heres some photos of the 3m foam tape the round stuff.
