That looks excellent! So if a car gets totaled, just put it somewhere on the lot!

Sounds fun! Take pics and video tape the entire course and Youtube it! Then i gets a free BASF training.
I’ll print out my own certification too. 🙂

I’ve used lots of Transtar before. Which product in particular are you talking about?
Never had fisheye problems from the products and the contaminents are always
    from somewhere else.

The Euro Classic Clear is probably the best thing they have going. The Euro Classic DTM primer seems
pretty good to (doesn’t sand easy but good build and low shrinkage).

    It’s terrible…

With the closing of so many dealerships, independent repair shops can do well (relatively).
Folks are holding onto their cars longer and trying harder to keep up with basic maintenance
(though they might drive around all banged up as i noticed). According to an old friend of mine,
whose been selling mainly motor to independent repair shops, he’s had a record April this year.
He services roughly 70 shops here in the valley and sales are way up.

But collision repairs are down overall…

One of the largest Dodge dealers here in San Fernando Valley is closing it’s doors after 40 plus years.
Only one delivery guy left so i had to go pick up a small part myself. They’ll be gone in a matter of weeks…

Buying OEM wont help. All domestic vehicles have/will drop in value. Who wants to buy a car from a
bankrupt company? It’s a downward spiral for them. And it hurts our businesses/lively hood.

Wrecking yards and aftermarket part makers could see a slight increase in demand, however…

Ever since i got into “detailing,” i can’t stop reading all about it. As BK says, it really is another
can of worms. Actually, it’s a very small, specialized field kind of like custom paint/body work.

    Interesting!

It was all just a ticking time bomb which some have seen coming from many years ago. And it’s exploding now.
One massive bubble… I feel that, in the long run, this is for the best. A reality check for everyone.

    ^What he said^

Looks fairly easy. And if welding is involved, you want to identify the type of plastic first. It’s probably ABS.
Also looks like the areas are somewhat raised. You may want to make some cut-outs that can sit on top
and use something like 3M Rigid plastic repair material (2 part) to make it seamless. And tape off all the
    chrome…

Or, just paint those sections red and call it done! the wires do sit nicely… 🙂

Since you already have an area and detailers, why not go for it?! For your shop, volume is key.
For me, i can only crank out so much with 2-3 guys. And when time permits, i clay and wax
for free but generally for bigger jobs (around 2K). It’s very quick, not much more work than
    just a regular wash, really.
