Yup, you do want to know what others around you are charging and why.
Marketing…this is a forum all its own. Don’t worry about destroying
anything just concentrate on doing good work and the rest should follow.

Also consider other up-sales. Minor or major detailing services can be good.
Head lights restoration (reclear), polish, wash/wax, interior shampoo, etc.
I got 28.6 hours to do this job. There was also a front cover and a reclear on a t/l for scratches that wasn’t pictured.
Were the hours sufficient?
personally love the yellow tape. i have tried many different ones and in the summer here with the 100% humidity its the only one that sticks to itself. its priced reasonably as well. according to the 3m rep the adhesive on it is the exact same as what is on the green tape. the paper is the only thing that is slightly different. i think 3m isn’t selling as much green tape as they should so instead of lowereing the price on the green stuff the yellow is a way to drop the price without admiting that they have been gouging everyone for years.
Ha! No kidding. But they’ll be jacking up the prices on the yellow too…

Some of you might not have noticed that he didn’t blend the hood on the drivers side.

I love it when the angle on the top of the fender changes before it meets the hood!
i’m sure we notice everything by now. No need to blend the hood, cus that’s
how you waive deductables.

Prices… some folks shop around a lot and don’t care how it’s done
just as long as you’re cheaper. It’s like shopping for shoes, where
vender A has it for $39.99 and vender B has it on sale for $29.99.
Well.. you gotta explain that $hit aint like that.

Sounds reasonable. Generally, for those minor scrapes, i just tell ’em
to use a touch-up brush and live with it until it really bothers them,
then to come see me. Sometimes, i’ll use lacquer thinner to clean then
find a similar color and brush it up for them and just send them on their
way (no charge). Makes them very happy and they tend to return when they
really do need me.
