Well Im glad you have it sorted out,for the life of me why don’t they just pour some of the proper hardener out for you or send you to a shop that has some???? IMHO if this is something that you care about they should at least give you matching products.OK rant over :p I used some of the single stage the other day underneath a new hood ,I could still finger print it after 6hrs and that was with fast hardener and accelerator. They are sorely mistaken if they think this system is going to replace utech.

You should be ok,thats enough flash time for the epoxy,I never cared for the low voc proform epoxy, low end product but it should work for you.Between you an me they don’t really know much about the system, basically here ya go and you have to learn on the fly.I would think that without reducer in it and 2 quick coats it skinned over and the solvents were trapped=solvent pop.I think the stuff needs 15-20%reducer to spray properly. Why the hell they give you universal hardener makes me shake my head :deadhorse Your using 3 different products paint ,hardener and epoxy and then they wonder why you have problems, bad advice is not your fault.

Agreed,7 business days,we all know about the customer is always right but there are limits to what a shop has to take. You were in the right and the customer was uninformed, you probably haven’t heard anything as the adjuster more than likely explained it to the customer.

From my limited use of urki its not that great of a product. You were given bad info from the store,a solid color should be reduced 10% metallic 15%.It is quite thick and slow to dry,I’m not that impressed with it.I wonder how long you waited in between coats of epoxy and how much flash did you give it?

Interesting,I couldn’t find anything out about the clear you are using, but I did find bt300 basecoat :S

Sprayed it for many years. You have a couple of choices for hardeners, standard or xp hardener with a wide range of activators(production, medium, standard, extra slow also).Mix it the way the tds states for the specific hardener you are using as both ratios are different.Pretty easy clear to spray and it will like a larger tip like a 1.4 in an rp.

Yes a few times,I wasn’t spraying much sikkens at the time that stuff came out.I sprayed autoclear for the longest time then went to ACIII and HS+

The older 3 pack version was pretty nice, but I think the 2 pack is a little bit nicer yet.

Sure its expensive but you will get more paint hrs out of it vs other clears as it goes a long way.You cant compare the cost per gallon you need to factor in usage and how far a gallon will go.Our cost is just under $500 and works out to about $90 a sprayable Litre and you can spray lots with that amount. You won’t know until you try it thats all I can say.

Happy to help you,if you take the time to look at the part #’s in the parts breakdown there will be a # for a repair kit. Then you can look at all of the seals and purchase whatever else you think you will need, its all right there bud. :cheers

I dont think there is a seal in the gun body where the pot mounts.Check the bottom of the pot that goes into the gun body is damaged from being dropped or out of round. You can get just the quick connect part for the pot.If your gun body is worn in the mount area the gun is junk,we had to toss a gun at work that was just worn out. Here is a parts breakdown for your gun HTH.

Actually I just looked at the parts breakdown and there is a seal in the gun body where the pot mounts part # 96875 inner cup seal

To be sure check your TDS for that particular product. To be safe I usually wait until it is matte and not shiny before I put on my next coat.If you are using a low voc solvent base give it more flash time before clear(usually 20 mins is ok with the old high test solvent in a production environment)When doing a complete I would wait about an hr for the best hold out and no dieback.
