Hey it looks awesome for what you had to work with, you should give yourself a pat on the back,I don’t think I could do half of the job you did with the lighting.I am really interested in Debeer products…I have heard nothing but good about them…thanks for sharing.:stoned
December 13, 2010 at 3:31 am #26141U-tech,lesonal.sikkens are all akzo nobel products, the non mixing brands does not apply.I think you are going to be shy on paint, you need to do a let down panel to see how many coats are needed for your mid coat 2,4,6 coats.Solvent needs more coats of midcoat to get your effect.White sealer is definately a good idea.
December 13, 2010 at 12:38 am #26133I hope you mean u-tech 4.0,I had some problems with upol clear, the primer is good.Make sure you have lots of base coat or you will have to use waterborne after dec 17..they will send the solvent system back to the states.Good luck 😉
December 12, 2010 at 11:57 pm #26128Canuck make sure you get enough paint and clear and some extra incase you have to do some more painting or touch up.And for your information solvent base will be non existent as of Fri Dec 17.Do a let down panel and see how many coats of mid coat it will take to get the desired effect. Also be careful with the edges when applying your midcoat,it can mess you up.And lesonal base is a great product but waterborne and solvent do spray differently in the akzo nobel line.Any questions just ask :cheers
December 12, 2010 at 10:03 am #26106Geez dude some white paint and some flouresent daylight bulbs would make your life a helluva lot easier.
December 12, 2010 at 4:18 am #26099I think this is the new trend, the new iwata’s don’t come with a cup either. Most guys use the rps cups anyway but it would be nice if they gave you a choice.By the time I got it on friday I only had time to use it on one job,but it performed flawlessly. After I use it for a couple of days I will let you guys know…and it is an rp,not hvlp we have them here.maybe your state is slow to get on board with aproval.

Dont listen to Jay. He just doesnt like Chip Foose and Foose uses BASF products so he hates those too :p :p :pcorn:[/quote]Come to think of it don’t you use basf too dinger….one more reason not to like it :clappy :clappy
December 10, 2010 at 3:54 am #26058Actually I will test drive it for a few days and buy it as a demo model :stoned Funny you guys don’t have them in the states yet.

December 9, 2010 at 11:04 am #26037Talk to your supplier and see what he can do for you…I can’t help you with that.I’m not making any deal until I see if I like it better than what I have already.
December 5, 2010 at 9:16 am #25879Within reason, you don’t want to start in the middle of a roof or hood and work your way out and down the fender and then go to the other side and continue from the middle down…that would be dumb.
December 5, 2010 at 8:39 am #25878I love that mustang Barry, but it needs some torque thrust “d”s in the worst way…nice job man :rock
December 5, 2010 at 4:31 am #25864I think everyone has been in that position before but IMO dealerships and flatrate shops are all the same. The only thing people care about is how many hrs they are going to make and how to cut corners, they don’t give a fuk about you and I have seen guys who will not help you hang a hood unless they get .5hr from the job you are working on.Also 8months is not very long at a shop and you don’t want to get labelled as a “mover from shop to shop”I would sugest finding a big independant or smaller that pays straight time with a bonus, you will have better team work and morale. Also sit down with your managers and tell them how you feel, you will be suprised at what might happen,a change for the better. The shop I am at now I gave my notice 3 years ago,I was tired of all the BS,they gave me a big fat raise and quite a few other bonuses to keep me,also morale changed for the better, jumping ship is not the best answer sometimes.Goodluck 😉
December 4, 2010 at 11:24 am #25829Don’t ya think the owner might have some visibility issues when it goes back into service :rofl :rofl Or are you to cheap to buy urethane anymore :rofl :rofl
