Yea lild I am a wussy but it also makes it that much easier to buff when the car is on the ramps ;)
If it were me I just would of buff it on the paint stand.

sadly enough, they can’t figure out why each time they come back it cost more and more to fix.

January 9, 2011 at 11:03 pm #26968

nice job, but you a cat stuck to the paint. that should be a real pita to get out.
and your a wussy for useing ramps to put the cover back on.
Looks good man! I always kinda liked getting a strange job like that in and being able to match it.
me too, the boss was like how come you can match a pos better than an 2010 bumper.
i said, the pos challanges me, i’m boared with the new stuff.:stoned :rofl

the guy who does these cars had a radio ad out last summer. “i do insurance, body, paint, and can give you a one of a kind custom paint job,” so far i matched all 4 of his cars that came in to us for repairs, with the exception of the orange peel. i’m working on that.

this one the blue was a 08 bmw laser blue, i didn’t even tint it.

the sad thing is the am grilles, the cheap ass paint, and flake now cost more than what the car is worth, and even then you’ll have to pay some one to take when they sell it.:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

thanks guys.
ben even if the body guy had used tape, he still would of massed it up. those were aftermarket grills they were a tight fit, they should of been prefitted or i almost would of prefered that they were put on and we would of painted around them.

January 8, 2011 at 5:24 am #26919

nice work precious. but i don’t see where you messed up.

January 8, 2011 at 5:15 am #26918

here’s the finish product.
of course no fri. would be complete with out some kind of challange.
now a days you it’s hard to get bodymen that pay attetion to details when putting a car back together like pre chiping the paint. i mean what client of yours has the time to worry about that. so you either hire the best or you get some old fart that should have been retired 3 times, and in old bodyman retirement home.

we get the old fart.:hunt :teach
looks good.
but why didnt you mix the flake in clear base
because who ever did it before put the flake in the clear.

it does look pretty straight from the pics. i would how ever strip the fenders back down to metal since they have been worked on once already, this way you avoid future bondo cracking.

January 4, 2011 at 7:16 am #26807

well, all i can say is that normally a euro spec sports car looks good. but not this one. if anything they should of got rid of is the stupid scoop in the middle of the hood. but i agree with ya canuck, why not let this total get a new one. that much work here in the states would of totaled it.
