dirty room would work if your working on stuff like pieces of furniture where one room can handle multiple jobs, multiple techs. if you want the shop to stay clean use dust less sanding discs and a vacuum system for your sanders. no need to reinvent the wheel!

to me that looks like the result of not using adhesion promoter on the bare plastic area before laying down the primer.

i hope the best for u and your family.

if you really want the business to succeed your gonna have to quit being a tech and start being a boss, however, that doesnt mean u cant throw in advice or know how when needed. if you find ur techs unable to work alone most of the time then its time for new ones.

id start mainly by improving efficiency before attempting to draw in more business.

remember you can be busy as hell but still be broke.

i bought a 7.5 hp, pump a little less then 2 years ago and what started off as a minor oil leaked, grew so large that all the oil leaked out and it was too late to do anything about it. pump ran pretty decent up to that point.

first thing i did when i hooked it up was remove the air filter assembly which in my opinion is way too small of an opening and installed 1.5” pvc fittings and piping to a custom made air filter assembly (taken from an old car) located outside the shop. this way, the filter never clogs, and the air is always clean.

pressure relief valves were the first things that failed so i bought a couple of good replacement ones from granger.

i noticed the compressor would run excessively hot so i replaced the oil the first day.

i doubt its possible for a newbie working alone to complete it in under a months time. just take your time and do it right the first time. no need to rush when its your own truck. ;)keep in mind all the money youll be investing.
rust repair is a real pita and if not done right, expect it to come creeping back in a matter of months if not sooner
