Well two years for this company but 6 years total experience and I’ve been spraying for 4 years.. What makes me upset that they hired a guy from different company, it could have been more reasonable if they got a guy from other store (they have 14 stores) by seniority cuz I know there are more prep/paint people in their company who’s been with them longer than I do. But they just got a guy from different company. Also, I was asked so many times if I wanted the job I told them YES! But all of the sudden somehow the lead painter didn’t want me to go cuz he knows since I started working with him, he’s been making more money than before and he gets to go home early as well. I pretty much know the job, I can tint, paint/spray, prep, all those stuff that painter does.. Actually I run the paint department for him, I schedule all the cars that needs to be painted and so on. All he does is spray. I got to the point that I dont wanna just prep anymore, I want it to spray and start from there..I’m not learning anything from the lead painter.. I dont wanna be a super prepper. Hopefully, I can find a new place for me.

I mix the nexa autocolor plastic cleaner with water (1:1 ratio) then it would turn into white. Then I use that to scuff raw plastic bumpers with gold scotch brite. For primed bumpers, I just use red scotch brite.

there are many ways to do a good blend. I use grey scotch brite, apply little bit of compound between the scuffed area and the shiny area. Then I would just mist my fade out thinner or blending solvent on the compounded area. When it’s cured I’d buff that area with swirl remover or glaze. I’ve done this so many times and never had problems. 🙂

I seal all new parts. Sometimes, I don’t seal parts that wouldn’t get exposed to human eye.
