YES you can put clear coat over a solid color.if the hardener is the same as the hardener you are putting in the clear coat you can spray it all in one go.Three coats of white ,let tack of .Then two coats of clear coat.Or you can flat the white when dry ,then clear coat it.The only problem with flatting the white ,you are going to have to make sure there is no marks or dirty finger prints on the white.

ITS a good tool ,most time when you flat runs out ,some how you manage to rub through around the run ,this way with the run tool. You only take of what you need .

THE CLEARCOAT AND THE hardener needs to be kept at room temperature.if its kept over night in cold conditions it will be thick ,so when you mix it and apply it to your panels, its gone on thick .as your temperature in your oven is warm it will thin out your thick clear coat causing it to run. That’s just another option.

FOR mixing large cans of primer you could use the mixing stirrer that plasters use to mix there stuff ,and put that on the end of a drill. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PRO-HEAVY-DUTY-PAINT-PLASTER-MIXER-STIRRER-PADDLE-WHISK-/380314642047?pt=UK_Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item588c84e67f

we use standox water base .we had the same problem,in the end we found dark base colors needed more drying times than light colors.as for your gloss loss its down to not letting your base dry enough. We use blowers six aside

PUT on one coat let dry .check base panel 4 any defects,Then apply to wet coats .let dry and then put your drop coat on at 1half bar.The way the reps say it ,is to put on two wet coats and follow up by a drop coat straight away while wet .Not 4 me ,With water base you need to feel whats best 4 you

SPIES is the same paint as standox 99% I’m sure I’m right.ASK your rep.if it is brilliant stuff.used water base for 16 years .using water base for your first time .completely different ball game. But once mastered its so easy .a walk in the park..It will probably pull your hair out for the first 6 months.
