Bare metal up is a ton of work.
When you’re starting to talk materials that are involved in a full bare metal up being more than the truck is worth. And then start factoring in the hours. For a 90s chevy?
Me personally. I may strip it back to the primer. But I probably wouldn’t go further than that depending on how bad the peeling actually is.

I just couldn’t imagine how you wouldn’t end up with a dry spray on your blending edge?

The only thing I would question with Masking the red, Spray masking it then unmasking the red would be how clean of a line can spray mask really create?
I mean you can’t really peel it to cut your lines… So I’m not too sure.

The design looks like a masking nightmare.
I would either try some Sticky Mickey’s (Or some other Adhesive masking film sheets) then razoring out the red stripe.

Judging by the design you wont be able to run a single sheet around that mess… But you could probably use the 6 inch, and just put it in each of the spokes 45* angle. then bonding all the sheets together in the middle.

Is it dull as in the color of it is dull, or dull as in it laid grainy? (Gritty)
Because clear you want to lay it wet, basically how you want the final result to look.

There’s a very fine line between not enough, and too much.

The problem started atop your filler work?

Hmm, possibly some solvent or moisture expansion out of your filler itself?
Stuff is like a sponge, and whatever it sucks up has to come out sooner or later (Typically on a nice hot day in the sun)

That’s pretty crazy stuff… Most people here would have drug that much damage out for at least a week. :lol1
Amazing how fast you can get stuff done when you’re paying by the hour to rent a booth. 😉

I’ll bet it took longer to mask that plate then it would have been to remove the two screws. :rofl
