Welcome Aboard John. (I’m not even going to try to guess how to spell your last name…)
Bondo Never stops talking about ya’ Says you’re going to teach the rest of us how it’s done.

My Question is why didn’t you start with Bondo First. :lol1 :wak

Fortunately this is only the Rear Bumper.
But it’s all the Window Trim, Glass Chrome, Door handles. and Drip rail trim…

The guy is a little too Anti Chrome IMO… I’m just not sure he understands how much work is involved in shooting so many pieces.

Sounds a little crazy to me stone, what are you going to do when you’re sanding and the car is swinging back and fourth?

You have to drain all the fluids.
Radiator, Engine, Tranny, Rear end, Gas Tank.

I have an Accessible Systems Rotisserie.
But I’ve seen way too many broken studs to even consider attempting to hang a car by just a few of them. :wak

That was actually me suggesting it. :lol1 I’m just not sure if I could put it off with the Jambs on these Mustangs… I may be able to if I shoot the interior of the door first, and mask that off completely, then just shoot the jambs… What I won’t be able to reach will likely be non visible. So I may be able to get away with it.

Also what do you guys do to prep for masking your jambs?
I’ve always had a little trouble with this.

You Back mask it first then hit it with a scotch bright pad and it seems like you always get the dust sticking to your adhesive. And then it blowing around while you’re shooting, no matter how much you try to blow it out before you start shooting.

Or you pre-scuff it before masking and you always seem to exceed your backmasking and have to polish the exceeding abrasion out.

So what are you guys doing?

Maybe I need to get me one of those scuff pens. I think that is what they are designed for. Right?

    Yep, Very nice.
How much you think you got into your booth total?

I wonder rather it would pass in a professional shop.
I mean it’s sorta the same type of setup Bondo has. And Bondo’s Passes. But then again he lives up in the sticks.

As with everything in this industry. (Especially when it has 3M’s name on it) It’s pretty pricey stuff.

For the 3M soft edge You’re looking at about 50-60 bucks for 27 yards.
Some of my local jobbers it’s as high as 75.

That is exactly why a lot of guys chose to use the more time consuming Back masking technique…

Me and Bondo Both run Wood Furnaces in our shops.
    It’s just Cheaper than NG.

One thing to mention, if you put a Wood Furnace/Boiler/Stove in your house right now. If you get one of the ones over 75% efficiency. Obama offers a 35% tax credit on it.
The Federal Government will pay you 35% of the Unit, and 35% of the costs to install it.

Just because it is a renewable Resource. They want to push people away from the Fossil fuels for heating their homes.

Mine is actually an Add on Furnace, Meaning it is a Stand alone or you can stick it side by side with your NG furnace and with just a couple Tubes run it into your house Furnace.

So if you got free wood. Hell it could really cut your heating bill.
It’s just a bit of work.

They’re more expensive than NG furnaces by a long shot. But you can recover quite a bit with the tax credit.
