Thx for the info and tips I’ll try to adjust my spray technique and see where that takes me. In another direction have any of you sprayed with an iwata supernova (ls400) I have been told that that gun is sprayed further and slower versus the RP. Would I possibly get better results in switching to one of those? If I can’t adjust to fast and close spraying with the RP haven’t really tried any other clear guns besides this one…

Yah my first ones usually about a medium coat second heavier. I use a 1.3 tip you guys like the 1.4 better? Spray at a maybe 6-7in. I can match factory texture (minor peel) was just wondering on how to lay it even better… haha just like to surpass my work on each job I do and feel like putting on any heavier doesn’t help. so would it be distance and speed holding me back since full open fan and fluid is a must at around 30psi

So spraying further and slower passes does not make a diffrence in texture compared to fast and close? At the same wide open settings? Also are you saying having a regulator on gun at 29-30 psi can create more orange peel versus setting at wall? Would upping the psi help clear lay out smoother?
