    Thanks for reply Jimmo.

(Is it me or a section on right side is all blacked out?)

So I guess I’ll go with R-M. Did you guys switch yet?
If so, what are you doing?

Looks heavy and kinda impractical.

    Nice job!
I haven’t painted anything in 6 months, I’m itching for spraying something now!

Cadillac paint and Glasurit refinish stuff on that car? Damn!
The material probably cost more than the car itself.

So, it is necessary to use “waterborne blender” when blending panels with waterborne BC?

    November 14, 2009 at 7:07 am #16968

I do have a Makita heat gun, I thought it was too hot to be used for waterborne. Thought
by using hair dryer on cold setting I’d have the same temperature and air movement as those air dryers designed for this purpose.

    Thanks for reply guys!

Great vids. Thanks for posting them.

Do we need those waterborne blenders, like with R-M or Glasurint lines?

    Or any lines?

I’ve read a lot of books available in my college library during my free time, I learned a LOT MORE reading forums/threads in autobody sites than the text books.

Holy crap nice work on that Lexus!

Was it really worth fixing the car? I mean that car is worth $12,000 accident free in great shape under 100K miles around here, how much would a repair like that cost?

    Canada!

    I’m a BMW nut. :silly:

DuPont is overrated: poor color match and coverage.

After trying R-M Diamont, I’ll never spray DuPont BC again.

I’m sure Sikkens make quality refinish material, however they are not user friendly and they are
expensive. I’d rather use Glasurit for what Sikkens stuff cost.

I’ve tried the NXT wax. Its a good wax but it barely lasts a month.

Try the Collinite 845 wax, its GREAT. Up here in snow/salt/rain/ice it
was still beading water after 3 months.

From what I’ve read in autopia.org many pros recommend sealants ,
especially the zaino, Wolfgang and klasse brand for winter protection or for those who
don’t feel like waxing their car every often.

And lol @ the “5 year paint selant”.:rofl
A mechanic I know purchased a new GMC SUV a while ago and he told me about about this
magical sealant that’s only sold in dealership:
Apparently they warm up the surface to “open up the paint” and apply the said sealant
and it sticks to the paint. :lol1
And it also lasts for years!

    Paint sealant Vs. wax:

    http://www.autogeek.net/qude101.html

Paint sealant lasts a lot longer than wax. Most pro detailer apply sealant after buffing/polishing and it lasts
    for months.

I ordered a Klasse sealant glaze about a few days ago, I plan to use it around winter.

From what Ive read it lasts at least 6 months. About $25 for almost a quart.
