It will help. Of course, with such low humidity here and the blowers on the wall it does dry relatively fast.
But you said it dried slow….
I don’t remember saying a dried slow. I may have said it dries a little slower than envirobase…still faster than other products.

just out of curiosity has the intake filter ever been changed it that booth? thought they were white:whistle:
:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

Dont blame poor Benny. The painter just left and he hasnt had time to Spruce it up brokeback style yet
The filters do need to be changed soon and the booth needs a good cleaning. Finding a few small surprises like the solvent gun washer no longer works, the water gun washer was nasty dirty, one of the air couplers in the booth needed replacing…we didn’t have any spray out cards or tack cloths…lol

but it is all getting taken care of as we go

YES! a chain steering wheel, and a foot gas pedal.
I forgot about those pedals…:rofl
Great stuff.

I’m guessing you’ve got a real good airflow in the booth, otherwise you’d be risking colour transfer between the panels. Certainly makes the most of the booth doing multiple jobs like that :rock
Yep. I did some more jobs today, a couple white and a dk metallic blue all close to eachother. Had to hold my breath when I was spraying the edges, the overspray was getting pretty close to the other parts, but nothing landed on the other parts! The booth is old and well used, but functions just fine.

Thanks for the comments everyone! :cheers
sprayed the autowave tonite. Had the reps here blowing smoke up my azz
It did air dry pretty quick. I would say a little faster then the ppg. definitely faster than onyx .
Gotta get some tough metallics to try out to get a good opinion of how they really spray and blend out.
The Sikkens products are all very good…but as far as the base goes I think the enviro may be marginally better/easier to use than the autowave. But I’ve only sprayed 6 jobs with the autowave thus far…time will tell.
hey if this is in the wrong section im sorry ive only just joined, i was wondering with the gun mentioned in the title iwata say it is for waterborne bases and hs clears. Now sorry if im being dumb but does that mean high solid waterborn or can this gun be used for 2k clears aswell.
I have a w400 with a 1.4 but i have been looking for a clear gun and ive been recomended the wbx.

anyways anyhelp would be much apreshiated
    cheers
    tosh
Any gun can be used for whatever you want…it just may or may not work well. All that makes a gun suitable for water is that the gun can be submerged in water and not corrode/oxodize. So most waterborne guns and their components are either chrome plated (including inside passages), stainless steel or anodized aluminum.

Basically the gun you mentioned is recommended for waterborne base and HS Clear (solvent). I don’t believe there are any waterborne clears available…
This is a side job I am doing at home and painting at work. Most of the jambs were stripped ,new full 1/4’s were installed,He didn’t pay enough for me to strip the jambs complete ,always 2 sides to every story so get the facts straight before you judge the quality.
I was’t meaning to be a d!ck. The quality of work looks great. Just that in the photo it looked like the hinge pillar wasn’t quite as pretty as the rest before primer. Obviously we all try to do good work, but are often limited by a budget/by what we are getting paid to do or not do. I was giving you a compliment and in no way meant to disrespect you or your work.

    .
As for the colorbuild what are you asking?? If colorbuild plus can be mixed with the new colorbuild 250? The answer is yes but do not mix the old and new hardeners or activators. If you have the old colorbuild plus you can use the new hardener and activator but you must use the new mixing ratio, and vice versa, you can use the new primers with the old hardener and activator as long as you use the old mix ratio. Finally you can mix the old colorbuild plus primer with the new CBP 250, no issues but you should be changed over by now. There is a CBP colorbuild color swatch and all the formulas are on the ecco head, ask your painter or your rep, probably Glen,Scott,or some new dutch guy who was hired to replace Kelly.
Thank you, that was what I was looking for. We have the new colourbuild 250 plus…but there are also several quart cans of the old colourbuild kicking around that no one uses. I think the boss wants them used up. There is no old hardener/activator, and I was some what under the impression that it could be used with the new hardener/activators.
Yes red oxide colorbuild sealer :stoned My computer suggested a dark yellow sealer but this gold didn’t cover well.So I noticed that this car was redoxide from the factory before the color. So I did a sprayout with the red oxide first and it covered better and made the color more original.Easy way to make it is 2 parts red colorbuild :1 part black colorbuild = instant red oxide :clappy I always try to reproduce what the factory does even on collison jobs, color match seems to be easier IMO.
Looks good…too bad the owner didn’t have you guys strip the jambs too.

With the colourbuild, can the colours be mixed with the colour build plus? Our sales rep mentioned something about that…

Looks like you are off to a great start.

Good points have been made. The gun may do you for now, but do consider upgrading it. Use bigger air couplers…this is a MUST. What type od paint are you trying to spray?
wouldnt be putting high flow couplers on a 33 gal compresser be like putting a 3 inch exhaust on a honda:teach :teach :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
Whats wrong with that? :rofl

besides, a 33 gallon tank with a 50hp motor will work wonders…now is that those little dinky American gallons, or the larger manly Imperial gallons? :lol1
