i think i watched that when you first put it up. looked pretty good. how come you didn’t fix the peeling paint on the bumper:P
November 23, 2008 at 5:59 pm #11872on the home stretch now BK. should have it painted soon. little advise though for the future. not a good idea to prime right up to the tape. that hard line can come back to bite ya, even if you think its all feathered out. not that it really matters on this job.
looks like you’ll be smoking a blend too. don’t let the wife catch you;)November 21, 2008 at 4:47 pm #11855cut the windshield out and do the repair. then let him decide if he wants to drive the car with a new windshield or none at all;) tell him you didnt have a choice thats the only way you could adjust everything to get the door to fit and open and closeB) . also give him a little advise. we all f-up. parents always find out. thats just how it is. better for him to tell them now then let them find out some other way. then maybe they’ll lend him some cash so you can finish it right and get a little extra.
Also might as well just pull a jimmo and tape off the moldings and handle on that back door and blend it. wont take much longer and you’ll fell better about it.
Think of it this way, you got more for that job than normsautobody would have:laugh:November 13, 2008 at 6:14 am #11818your working to fast now a days bondo. banged out the ford in 2 days. now this. whats wrong 😛
November 10, 2008 at 7:27 am #11797it was over $300 a ton 6 months ago. the scrap guy stopped by last wekk. its down to $25 a ton
November 8, 2008 at 6:53 am #11789its got a basement. not a pit dig into the ground. they have downdraft (well semidowndraft) booths with no pit or basement. this one you have to drive up ramps to get into. kinda sucks when you have something to put in thats not drivable like a pickup box or resto job. but then agin i have a payloader so its not that bad:P
November 8, 2008 at 4:28 am #11781that was the customer pay portion. would have been easy enough but didnt want to pull the 1/4 trim.
there only in there with 9mm bolts and butyl tapeNovember 8, 2008 at 4:20 am #11779and i though almost 1900 for this was good

75 for a used mirror and $120 my cost in materialsNovember 8, 2008 at 3:20 am #11777Thats the fastest i’ve ever seen you finish something:P . getting the nose the same color is cheating. it is off a little. maybe you should blend the doors and fenders so it looks better
November 3, 2008 at 3:03 am #11733hey. we’re the same ageB) bondo’s a little older though. he’s been around the block a few times more:P
October 31, 2008 at 1:18 am #11697your gonna find more dealers closing. gm chrysler and ford. one of the salesmen from the local ford dealer said they are going to cut back on the dealerships. they are trying to follow toyota’s model. he said there are 2000 toyota dealers in the usa and 4000 ford dealers and toyota outsells ford. Also with the talk of GM wanting to buy out chrysler that will result in even more closures. In the end though it might be better for everyone, kinda like having to many bodyshops is bad(except for the ins co.). it will just be a little rough getting there
October 30, 2008 at 6:15 am #11687Let me get this right. you took the headlights out and painted the hood scoop seperate (which surprised me by the way) on a 300,000 mile hay hauler. But you put the headlights, bumper and hood emblem on the lexus before painting it.:P I’m embarrased. That is a pretty nice masking job though. still can’t belive you didn’t bolt that scoop in first
