same goes here. Some times it works if you explain that you get what you pay for.
I had a customer ask if I was crazy when I explained we could do it cheaper but no guarantee on any of the repair
explaining that there is a possibilty of clear peel etc and then I ask what they do for buisness and ask
in a nice way of course if they would work for no wages and then I explain the cost of materials and my techs time etc and usually I can ralley the job but sometimes I think I could stand on my head and spit quarters and could never do a thing to convince the customer. It just seems customers have no idea or
they think maybe we are all Canadian Tire stores. I got asked to paint a piper plane
again explained all of the above customer just stood there so I asked what they thought they should spend on this repair they said 100.00 I go mad and said I would drive him to the store so he could purchase a couple of cans of spray paint for that and I would glady drive him ………..what I did not say was he would have to walk home
People just do not get it any more yet they would spend thousands of dollars in mechanical end and hove not problems
Life is just like that I guessshould open some doors for other body shops to take up the slack
If enough dealerships have body shops closing it will also open up the oppurtunity to
pick up some good staff also
I have heard from most of the customers that they will never buy gm again
The small community here are loyal to the dealership as they have devoloped friendships
over the years and fell like this is home for them so this is good news for uspersonally I would have painted the bumper no problem with the amount of time and as a goodwill to customer service……………but not everyone thinks the same
We just did a volks complete but did not do both bumpers not enough time and monies on estimate
So you could always call back but should have maybe negotiated in price from the start
Let me know what you decide…….but your bumpers always are a tad different in color anywayboss owns and controls all that goes on
Do you own your own shop or do you work for a dealership
I do not take a back seat if thats what your thinking
but the control is ultimatley his
Like I said it’s his sandbox It’s that or lose my job
point has been argued but some times it is what it isI agree but disagee
I go over all customer cars with them and you can tell if they are not happy
In this neck of the woods not to many complaints but those who do are real pain, you know were and I find if they are unhappy most of the time…..no matter what you do……… you will not make them happy no matter how far over you bend
Here they won’t deal with you they deal with the big gun
So I am glad they are mostly happy
So after all that I guess I am saying it depends on area- AuthorPosts
