I havent thought about adding hardener to the base I wonder if that would help?I try not to bury paint on top of paint,just color it and clear.We did a single stage black car and it looked good and still had a good gloss a month later,its just the cars we clearcoat.We usually cut and buff all clearcoats after they sit outside a day or so.I even bought the SOLO system for buffing
April 28, 2008 at 9:13 pm #10247Hey man scrap is bringing top dollar now.We took an old 91 Gran Prix to the scrap yard and it brought 365 dollars.Thats around 12.00 per hundred lbs and also cataltic converters thyre bringing good money now.
April 28, 2008 at 9:09 pm #10246Yea we polished one of them it was 2000 Galant.It looked real good and then about 2 weeks the owner came by and asked why was it dull in a few areas,anyway we buffed it again and it looks good now really hope I dont see it again,just too much work and we only get paid once.
April 28, 2008 at 8:55 pm #10244We are using an Iwata 400 1.4 head for both base and clear.The sealer we are using I try to give it about 30 minutes to flash before base I know this is kinda embarrassing as good as it looks when it comes outa the paint room then after a week or so it looks as dull as a banana peeling.
April 24, 2008 at 8:27 pm #10214Yea we have one here now a1995 Toyota Camry,put front end on and painted and tomorrow will be the second Friday.I guess its the cost of food fuel and other things that make us have to wait on ours,meanwhile our money,labor,sweat ,detailing sit in the parking lot,waitng on a hero to pay and ride off.
