Not sure if it is or not,if lesonal waterborne and energypro are I would assume so.If I was in your situation with no voc laws I would use lesonal universal clear or ACIII instead of EP 250.If you want more info PM

Here is the TDS sheet for it…

Re-read my post I said “Proair LV” not proair,no they are not the same.Energy pro 250 is relabeled and sold as Lesonal Proair LV.That info comes from John Noakes at Sikkens Western Canada Training center,I didn’t pull it out of my ….I have sprayed both (Pro-air LV and energy pro250 are identical) when we put on a Lesonal WB clinic at our shop last winter. 😉
It is definitely not the easiest clear to spray. You really have to haul-ass with it, and plan your attack. I agree with you on that Underpaid. I also agree with you that is definitely not junk. I watched 5 guys from LKQ (who have never held a paint gun in their hands before) spray Superior at the Akzo training center, and they made it look like they were seasoned professionals! Not too many guys can pull that off with Energy Pro, unless they really know what they are doing… I have even heard some ridiculous stories about guys using Superior hardener with Energy Pro clear. Absolutely NOT recommended, not needed, and completely pointless in regard to what the clear is supposed to be…
By who? That info comes from the training center up here absolutely accceptible.Energypro is not hard to spray, the only thing to remember is no waiting between coats. If you want to save yourself some money get some lesonal proair LV,it is relabeled energypro.Like I said if you guys like it and it’s working for you great,it doesn’t work for us,superior just works and looks better, plus it is more chip resistant…

Let me re-phrase that about energy pro”it is junk”if it works for you great, but it didn’t work for us and we threw it out of the shop after a year.

Do you mean HS+LV? If so no comparison between the 2,that would be like comparing a vw to a mercedes.Superior 250 is effortless to spray, stays open longer, beautiful gloss, stays that way,and a little bit goes a long way.HS+LV was a faster clear desingned for spot jobs or 2-3 panels, north of the border it was repalced by another quick crappy clear called energypro 250.Try superior for yourself and you will see how nice it is.

I wear runners(new balance adidas etc) or low cut nylon hikers.Steel toes are uncomfortable and not a fan of the callous on my big toe :p I usually get 2-3 months out of a pair and the grips are worn right off,I put on a lot of miles during the day.

Thats interesting Don but I have limited knowledge of ppg toners and what they do(but the 9300 and 9700 formulas look identical ),but i can tell you that the 9700 is browner looking than the 9300 concept factory packs.Wa8555 is also browner looking than ford UA,I usually just go with the ford color or the bluer variant of ford UA,base clear black always looks a little milky compared to single stage IMO.

Are you sure about 9300 and 9700 Don?? When I was doing a project for a friend a few years ago he was working in a ppg jobber store and supplied the materials. The rep explained to us that 9300 was a bluer black to match dodge and ford colors, and the 9700 was a browner black to match gm wa 8555.I did sprayouts of both and found the concept 9300 to be the darkest cleanest of the 2…just sayin 😛

With the 7.5 horse devair you need to look at how much cfm it puts out and the recovery time it has.The only reason I say this is the portable blowers on stands eat up lots of air.If you are doing a large job in the booth and you are running 4 blowers plus your guy out in the shop is running a sander IMO you will run out of air fast, you might have to go for a 10 horse,or the screw compressor.
