I’ve done a bit of brazing in my past without any failures.
But in my AirForce Repair manuals they make it very clear that just like with Aluminum, give it enough stress, and or enough time, and it will in no doubt fail.

But that could be decades if not longer.
Personally, that looks like it would suck to reproduce. and there is no clean way to fix it. So I’d say leave er’ as is.

I’m almost surprised at some of the interesting rides you get down there Dag.
    Some really nice rare cars.

I’ve got it on Valspar’s 333 and 666 Series Basecoats. PPG Omni, as well as BASF Diamont…
It just weirds me out when I unmask something and I have these lines that look like adhesive right where the tape was all down the side of the car, or hood, or whatever.

All I’m talking about is what looks like adhesive that it leaves behind.

I notice it in the red on this tank

But you clear it, and it’s gone…

    Looks good to me Han.

Been thinking about picking up one of those thin black wool pads you suggested.
Now also considering some of that 105.
My shelves are full of 3M crap… But I’ve used the 85. and I am sold on Meguiars.

PPG is to paint, as 3M is to Compounds. And I’ll just leave it at that. 😉

    And nice Fiberglass work indeed.

Here’s a question for when doing graphics. stripes, and what not.

Whenever I mask out a stripe. Rather I use Blue Fine line. or 3M 233+
Rather I wait 5 hours for the base to dry. or 30 hours.

the masking tape always seems to leave a slight discoloration.
It doesn’t seem like Adhesive, Because I can’t physically feel it.

Usually I’ll go over it with a water based Wax and grease remover just to see if I can’t have some effect on it.
    But it usually does nothing.

But I’ve never noticed it visible when I clear over it.

So I guess my question is what are we supposed to do with these stripes left by masking tape?
    What is causing it?
And Is there a way to fix it? Or do we just move on?
Am I just lucky that it isn’t visible? or does everyone have the same results with all colors?

Actually the color is “Mustard” but do to the 1969 Mustang Mach I with”Mustard Stripes package” not sounding too appealing they called it gold.
So they are Mustard in color, yet called gold.
I mean gawd… Don’t you guys know anything!

Why does it always run in places like that? Hard to sand, and hard to buff. Never get one on a nice, flat, easy to buff panel…

We call them dings for a reason now. And trust me, you had everything to do with it. 😉

    Wouldn’t a run make more sense? 😛
