unless the paint is cracked, peeling etc, there is no need to remove it. it can be sanded and painted. if you do want to remove it you either need to sand it all off or use a chemical stripper made for bumpers. either way sucks and is the reason most places will replace the cover if it needs stripping

Used Diamont base and that runny HS+ clear. Wanted to try some matrix AG40 but they didnt get it to me in timeNovember 25, 2011 at 6:56 am #34371
i was thinking about a gallon gallon and a quarter unactivated , just to be safe.

2 qts of polybase would be more than enoughNovember 24, 2011 at 6:38 am #34351
If it hasn’t cured by now you have to strip it,no way around it.
I think he was asking what the best way to remove it was
Try thinner see if it wipes off
scrape it off
sand it offNovember 23, 2011 at 4:50 pm #34346Glaso and onyx are solvent tints with a water mixing clear. Not a true waterborne technology. I tried some on a few small parts and didnt have much issue but its hard to judge based on a bumper and tailgate. my rep says they are having better luck with 90 line by mixing it with the onyx mixing clear. from the shops around me that are using it, i havent hear anyone rave about it. Takes to long to dry, base stays gummy. I’ve heard some people say they’ve moved the base when buffing the car :S. I think jimmo is they only one on the site that uses BASF water everyday. maybe he’ll chime in
