so far only needed it twice both times were defective products 1 sealer problem and 1 clear problem. sealer never made it to base and the clear issue never made it out of the shop.you can tell when a product is not working right when you use it everyday.

I’d say it depends on how you handle the problem if we did something I’ll always stand behind taking care of it.We do a massive amount of repeat customers because they know we stand behind our work.but we do get the occasional disgruntled customer that no matter what you do, is going to someone else.I just had 1 what I was a good customer come in because their frnt bumper which we replaced was chipping they live on a gravel road.but being the shop we are and their past business i took it of itand stripped down completly and repainted it for them free of charge. 8 hours stripping by the way and 2 day rental at my cost.well 2 weeks a go they whack a deer and take it to the hack shop down the road.well long story short new bumper is peeling already looks like it was never even prepped:laugh:.

we went from dupont to standox best move we made,as for sikkens it’s all how you use it. but its more along the lines of dupont.as for cost ours dropped when we went to standox because it has way beter coverage so we use less tints.

roughly 34 hrs to refinish but ccc times suck on vans best way to do it is time and materials. or you could say 40 paint 20 r&i plust cost of paint and materials.I have 10 all overs from a wind storm here and a ford focus has better paint time on it than a van.

do any of you have sky lights in the shop when we built out new one we put in 6 6×2 inthe roof it saves on electricity by shutting off the halogens. Our heat is in the floor and our furnace runs off wood and gas that alone saves on our gas bill in a huge way and because it is alternative fuel we get to write it off in taxes.

😆 O yeah I’ve seen titanics and hindenburgs.I’ve painted cars that no matter what I did to them they just would not come out to my satisfaction.I painted and stripped a super beetle 3 times because It just would not come out right for some reason I did 2 bmw z3 all overs while I was doing that job and one was a chromillusion job and they were perfect but everytime i shot that damn bug all hell would break loose.I saw that hateful car the other day and it was the shinnest solar yellow you ever seen I ended up putting chroma premier ss on it and then clearing it with 72400.I still hate that car.

I think that the painter at the time was the biggest problem he was a spray can bandit which doesn’t hold out well over filler in my opinion so i just don’t put it over filler as a habit. we got about another 2 weeks of tweaking before we paint it off course its blk I’ll get some nice outside shots of it.

just remembered this one when we switched to standox my jobber put in new mixer and paint/primer and left dupont sealer and clear.now here comes the good part they said they would warranty jobs if we mix matched materials.so i went to standox site and checked warranty conditions . they will not warranty it as usual unless its standox start to finish. jobber kept say that wasnt true ya right. gave him until next day to get everything onto 1 line because i had my shop supply jobber chomping on the bit to set us up with RM.I wish we had a real supplier in my area i’m tired of all this halfassed excuses and service.last monday they left my 2600.00 order sitting on the loading dock and said they could bring it thursday. wrong answer. sent my wife over to get it 45 miles each way.thats 2 hours labor lost and a fuel surcharge.thats comming off the bill.
