Strip it fix it etch it then 2k.dont etch over any filler unless you want to do it again later.the only dupont product i kept is 615 variprime.I have been using more epoxy on somethings mostly undercarriage and frames.were doing a 64 tbolt now i’ll post some pics when its done.
I’m weeding out my kent inventory we have used it for years but I also have 3m and lord fuzor too after kent is done fuzor is next.
Our office manager does the hiring and goes by gut feeling sofar so good everyone here has been with us for 7 or more years.As for finding a good tech goodluck.I had a guy come in who just finished at wyotech and he wasn’t even ready to handle an easy frnt end hit.Kinda felt sry for him head of his class and they didn’t teach him squat about collision work.I’d like to start an apprentice program but its hard to find someone who will stick with it.I kinda did that with our current preper and after three years myself and the painter will throw him in the booth and have him paint small jobs and he does a pretty damn good job.
I started out using dupont and up until we switched I took a look at some formulas that I had written down ages ago what they have done is reformulate the tint amount by at least 70% and just have 150k and 175k to finish it off.even 99k wouldn’t cover in less than 4 coats.

i told everyone here about it but pretty much want to remain ignorant of todays info.I for one want to learn as much about what i do as possible.knowledge is power in my book.
We have 4 as of right now 2 are no qustions asked fix it and bill us 2 are pretty much a few times a year . we don’t give any discounts or labor concessions to any of them either they pay door rates or they can take us off the program.but back on subject I have never seen an agreement from any of them demanding anything other than pic size or headers on the estimate like assn date in out whatever. I think in most areas there are too many shops and thats when they start asking for concession because so and so down the street is willing to loose money and make it up in volume:laugh: .Luckily there are only three shops in my county.It comes down to a business decision.most contracts are basically survey sheets what you charge and either they agree or they don’t.The only one i ever had any problems from was selective.
We just switched to norton sand paper 30% less than 3m and I personnaly feel it last longer.and cut better.And this comes from a shop that has used 3m for 35 years.
We kept hearing from the dupont rep cut the balancer and binder to help it cover better.then they would come back and say we would never say that.that’s just before we told them to take a hike and got in standox.
here’s what i found grn kwa code 607 standox 69586.it is for the zrx1100.wht 902 and 218700.and the purple is 413 and 278900. all of them come up as tricoats. they all have same undercoat which is white then the mid coats. hope this helps bet you cant wait to do three tricoats together.:laugh:
looks like they are giving away some plasma tv now not sure if the 2 dollar thing is still inefect but it shouldn’t matter what country your in.
yep us 2 dollar bill which they still make but most are used in europe for some reason.when i lived in germany damn things were everywhere. we used it the other day other than how it mounts the cap it has plasic fold over retainers they fell kinda flimsy but worked fine. I had this persistent feeling it was going to fall off the the gun the whole time.I’m gonna try devilbiss version as soon as i get it in to try.
I have all the motorcycle co. formulas in my standox computer. ill post the formulas when i get a chance or if anyone needs one pm me and ill get you either the fac code or a standox code to crossover.
Yea they still do it around here but I write them to fixem not kiss ass.I get about 7 to 8 out of 10 just because old women really dig me:laugh: and we have a excellant rep for doing it right.
put them both back in correct places it is definetly important in crush zones. one of the guys was using fusor that was lets say past it’s prime it came out like water and by the time he came back with a new tube it looked like one of those snakes kids have on 4th of july stuff was coming out everywhere:laugh:
